The Avengers Teaser Hits the Web

It was revealed this weekend that the post-credits scene in Captain America: The First Avenger is a teaser trailer for next summer’s blockbuster film The Avengers.  Who knows how long these teasers will stay online but there’s a short time to check it out.  The teaser doesn’t give a ton away but it sets up the movie quite nicely.  See if you can notice all the costume changes too.

Rumor has it that an official version of this trailer will be debuted at Comic Con and then released to the public so there might be a high quality version available in the coming days.  If all else fails you should be able to see this teaser with Captain America.

Final Captain America Trailer

The latest, and presumably final, trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger has hit the web.  I’ve been excited about this movie for a while and this trailer certainly helps add to the excitement.  My thoughts have been that Cap would be the best summer movie starring a superhero and this trailer really makes me think I was right.  Check it out, you won’t regret it!

Retro Captain America: The First Avenger Poster

The cast and crew of Captain America: The First Avenger were all given this ‘retro’ version of the movie poster for the upcoming film.  To be honest, I like it more than the versions that have been in theater.  After all, what is cooler than Captain America punching Hitler?

Captain America: The First Avenger Trailer

The official trailer for the Captain America dropped early!  Originally it was slated to be released on Friday.  So enjoy it while you can in case Paramount tells everyone to take it off the web.

I will say this though, this trailer = geekwood.  Puny Steve Rogers using the trash can lid as a shield is just an awesome moment.

New Captain America Footage

Entertainment Tonight showed this footage last night.  My hope is this is part of the trailer that is rumored to be released soon.  At the very least we have our first video footage of Cap throwing his shield.

New Captain America Picture

Marvel has released another picture of Captain America from the upcoming movie.  This time they released the promo shot in the recent copy of Previews.  I have to admit the costume is growing on me.  Click on the picture to see the image in full size.  Can’t wait for this movie to come out over the summer.  Should be pretty good.

Edit: This animated gif is from the footage shown on Entertainment Tonight.  Not high quality but kinda cool.  Click on the picture for the animated version.

Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser Trailer Details

Update: I saw this post was getting a lot of hits.  I assume folks are looking for the Captain America Trailer.  I’ve got it as another post, so go check it out.

The folks over at Comic Book Movie.com have gotten some information on the detailed background of what we will see in the Captain America teaser trailers which should be dropping soon.  Check it out below:

Opening scene. Recruitment.

Calling: “ROGERS. STEVEN.”

Doctors are looking at Pre Super-Soldier Serum Steve.

Steve: “Just give me a chance!”
Doctor: “Sorry, son! *Takes a paper. Stamps REJECTED!*”
Doctor (or not): “Just saving your life.”

Paramount. Marvel Studios. Cut to Camp Lehigh.

Col. Chester Phillips (Peggy Carter by his side) says to standing soldiers & Steve: “General Patton has said, that wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men.”

Steve (Pre Super-Soldier Serum) gets beaten by someone on the streets. Takes a part of garbage can as his shield.

The guy, that beat Steve: “You just don’t know when to give up, do you?”

Steve (looking all angry at this guy): “I can do this all day!”

Sadly, Steve takes another beating from the guy.

Chester Phillips (looking at soldiers & Steve): “Our goal is to create the greatest army in history!”

Cut to Bucky (in army uniform) & Steve (in normal clothes):

Bucky: “I should be going with you.”
Steve: “I know you think I can’t do this!”
Bucky: “This isn’t about (something), Steve, this is war!”

Chester Phillips: “Every army begins with one man!”

Cut to Abraham Erskine & Steve:

Abraham to Steve: “Five tries in five different cities.”

* Soldiers walking by in camp

Abraham to Steve: “I can offer you a chance!”

Cut to Steve in Camp, receiving some special envelope. Abraham Erskine in coat & hat standing by Chester Phillips next to Steve & other soldiers.

Chester Phillips: “He (Steve) will be the first in a new breed of Super-Soldiers!”

Cosmic Cube? Some explosions. Peggy Carter & Steve together.

Steve: “Why me?” (chamber, full of scientists, generals. Steve gets inside the vita-rays capsule)

Abraham: “Because alignment, because of value, of strength, because of value of power.”

Steve gets injected by something, saying: “That wasn’t so bad.”
Someone replies to Steve: “That was penicillin.”

First look at Howard Stark, looking real smart & classy.

Chester Phillips: “We are going to win this war because we have the best man!”

Abraham to Howard: “Now, mr. Stark!”

Chester Phillips: “They will personally deliver (or something, I don’t remember) Hitler to the gates of hell!”

* Really good & long view of Steve’s painful transformation into Super-Soldier. Lights out! *Some army music plays* Everyone is shocked to see the brand new Steve Rogers. Howard Stark & Abraham Erskine are amazed.

Peggy Carter: “How do you feel?”

* Cut to streets of New York (the ones, we’ve seen on set pictures – looking realistic), people walking by.

Steve: “Taller”

* Cut to some icy lands.

Someone says to Steve: “Your task won’t be simple!”

* Cut to Heinz Kruger’s submarine, Steve is breaking it, asks Heinz: “Who the hell are you?”

Heinz Kruger: “The first of many!”

* Cut to some gunshots & Peggy, car explosion (the one we’ve seen on set video).

Someone says to Steve: “Your enemy is not, what you expect!”

* Cut to the big army of HYDRA & Johann Schmidt (not the Red Skull yet).

Steve & the Howling Commandos are inside some factory, with Schmidt’s goons around. Johann takes his human mask off & we get to see first full & clear shot of Red Skull’s face, that now looks even more violently red, than it was in the tv-spot.

Cut to Howling Commandos wrecking sht & kicking butt, big explosions (some of them we’ve seen in the tv-spot), flying spaceship (here it looks incomplete, more CGI-ish), HYDRA firemen making a fire circle around Cap & HYDRA men in the forrest near some car.

Steve (in his army uniform): “Don’t know if I can do this!”

Cap & HYDRA on motorcycles, chasing him through the forest. Another explosion! Cap jumps on one of the HYDRA soldiers’ car!

Abraham’s voice (to Steve): “That’s why you were chosen!”

Cap, possibly in HYDRA headquarters, fighting the Red Skull (not sure about this one, but looked like it).

Arnim Zola’s lab, more explosions.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.

Steve (to Peggy, holding his unpainted silver shield – tv-spot moment): “What do you think?”
Peggy: “I think it works!”

If this is what the teaser trailer actually is, I think it will bring in casual viewers.  The trailer doesn’t seem to be too focused on appealing to just the comic book fans.  The trailer is designed to sell the movie on a man who is willing to try anything to support his country and then due to a miracle (aka the Super Solider Formula) is able to be a hero.  Regardless I’m even more excited for this movie.  This summer is going to be great.

The Red Skull Revealed Part 2

Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a picture of The Red Skull and wow it looks dead on.  The Red Skull is played by Hugo Weaving but you can barely tell.  Luckily Weaving is used to having his face hidden away and being unrecognizable.  He was awesome as V and should be great as the Skull.

Seriously, this picture looks almost the same as what you see in the comics.  Great job Marvel!

Super Bowl Movie Trailers

Here in the US the Super Bowl is known as a time to see a ton of funny commercials and some movie trailers for upcoming summer blockbusters.  If you’re lucky like me you get to see your favorite NFL team win the Super Bowl (Go Packers!).  I wanted to share some of the commercials and movie trailers I really enjoyed.

Captain America: The First Avenger: This is the movie trailer that I was most excited for.  This was the first footage we saw of Cap in action and of the Red Skull.  The Cap movie is looking pretty good to me and I’m looking forward to the next trailer that might tell us a little bit more of the story.  But, can anyone really hate on this movie when they see Cap throw his shield, its just awesome looking.

Thor: Based on the quality of both Marvel trailers, this could be a great summer for Marvel comic book movies.  The Thor trailer didn’t add anything new, but it was good.  I think this movie could end up appealing to regular audiences as well as the fanboys.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: I’m not sure how much I’m going to like this movie, and to be honest it kind of smells like a cash grab by Disney.  This trailer didn’t seem to give up too much new, but it was fun.  Pirates 4 could be a good movie, and hopefully it is.  I really think people are going to start getting tired of Captain Jack if they actually start a new trilogy.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon: You can tell this is a Michael Bay film based on all the explosions.  Cheap shots aside, this actually got me pretty interested despite the fact that I have absolutely no idea what is going on.  I’m looking forward to finding out more about this movie before forming an opinion, but it can’t be much worse than the last one.

Cowboys and Aliens: Some people are hating about the simplistic title of the movie, but I love it.  It tells you what the movie is about from the very beginning.  With a great cast and established director this movie should be awesome.

The Red Skull Revealed

If you saw the Super Bowl last night you may have seen the Captain America trailer that premiered.  Eagle-eyed watchers may have noticed a blink and you’ll miss it appearance of the Red Skull unmasking.  We’ve got a picture of it, and boy does it look authentic to the comics!
