New Smallville Promo

March 8, 2010

The CW has released a promo for the new episodes of Smallville.  Its a slightly corny teaser, but the clips from the shows themselves look awesome.  Biggest thing to note, is that it looks like Metallo will find the Fortress.  Take a look for yourselves.

Smallville Gets Season 10

March 4, 2010

This just came in a little bit ago, but its official that the CW network has renewed Smallville for a 10th season.  Mike Ausiello broke the news on his site:

The early pickup hardly comes as a surprise given how well the show has been performing in its new Friday timeslot. As The CW points out, the series has “dramatically improved” the network’s performance on the night in all major demo categories, including adults 18-34 (up 67 percent), men 18-34 (up 200 percent), adults 18-49 (up 75 percent), men 18-49 (183 percent), and total viewers (74 percent).

What does this mean for the fan?  Well at least 22 episodes of pre Superman goodness.  But personally, I think there’s a slim chance we might get to see Clark don the red and blue tights next season.  They’ve started to hint at his change to Superman a lot more.  Dr. Fate’s vision of the red cape gives me hope for a flying Superman next season!

No More Smallville Until April

March 1, 2010

Yes, you read that right.  Smallville has gone back on hiatus until April 2nd.  It feels like we just got back from a break on the show.  One thing I’ve never understood is the way CW breaks up a season of Smallville.  Its like they only want to show a few episodes at a time.

But despite the break we’ve been left with a pretty good preview of whats to come when Smallville returns.  Looks like we’ll see more Metallo!

Another Smallville: Absolute Justice Clip

February 2, 2010

Does anyone else get the feeling that the CW might be overhyping this 2 hour episode a little too much.  At this point it better deliver.  Anyway, the new clip is below.

New Clips From Smallville: Absolute Justice

February 1, 2010

Just saw some of these clips hit the web.  Hopefully its enough to whet your appetite for the episodes airing this week.  Its the JSA how could you not want to watch?

New Smallville: Absolute Justice Trailer

January 29, 2010

The CW has released another trailer for the extended episode of Smallville airing on Feb. 5.  It still doesn’t give too much away, but seems to be revealing to Clark that he is the future of the heroes in the Smallville world.  Trailer is below!

Smallville: Absolute Justice Trailer

January 22, 2010

So the trailer for the Smallville movie event hit the web a couple days ago.  If you haven’t heard about this event the basic gist is that members of the Justice Society of America or JSA will be guest starring in this 2 hour Smallville event.  Smallville: Absolute Justice is slated to air Friday, February 5th at 8PM on the CW.  I already know I’ll be watching.

Smallville: Absolute Justice

January 8, 2010

New promo pictures have hit the web for Smallville: Absolute Justice.  If you remember this is the two-part episode featuring the Justice Society.  The picture is below, but I’m still trying to find out if this is legit or someone’s work on photoshop.  Opinions welcomed.

EDIT: We also found this new teaser for the 2nd half of the season.  Nothing major in here although the Dark Archer is shown briefly and a bit more of the JSA.

JSA on Smallville

December 11, 2009

You’ve probably been living under a rock if you hadn’t heard that the JSA would be appearing on the Smallville TV movie called Absolute Justice.  Absolute Justice is currently set to air on February 5th.  Probably one of the coolest parts is that this two parter turned movie is penned by Geoff Johns of DC comics fame.  He wrote the Smallville episode Legion last year.  This was the episode starring the Legion of Superheroes.

You could argue that the appearance of the Legion and the addition of the flight/time travel ring to Clark’s stash has helped build up season 9 of Smallville.  Without the Legion ring Lois would never have gotten to travel to the future and the story arc with Major Zod would likely be very different now.

The big news is that Smallville will continue to add to their cameo appearances of superheroes.  This time they’ll be adding Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and Stargirl.  I think one of the coolest parts is that Michael Shanks, Daniel Jackson of the Stargate series, will be playing Hawkman.  I have to admit, this Hawkman picture far superior to the one released a few weeks back.  At least this time the mace doesn’t look like its about to fold in half.

We’ve included the pictures at the end of the post, but before moving onto that there is the trailer we saw at the end of Pandora to talk about.  Sidenote, Pandora was a great episode and part of the reason season 9 has been so great.  The trailer at the end of Pandora contained clips from the next 3 episodes of Smallville that will air after the winter break.  For a 20 second teaser there were certainly a lot JSA references.  We got clips of Clark uncover their headquarters and team picture, but what is possibly the coolest part occurs at about the 7 second mark.  If you look close thats a Green Lantern ring presumably on Alan Scott’s hand.  Maybe, just maybe we’ll get a cameo of the Green Lantern in these episodes.  Check out the trailer below and the screenshots of the JSA members that will be on Smallville.

Metallo Returns to Smallville

December 7, 2009

Its hit the web that Metallo will be returning to Smallville near the end of the season.  A variety of sites are reporting that Brian Austin Green will reprise his role as John Corben the kryptonite powered villain.  If you saw the beginning of season 9 the character was introduced in the first few episodes.

John Corben was hit by a bus and left for dead before Major Zod and his followers took Corben’s body and turned him into a kryptonite powered cyborg.  Corben blamed The Blur for the death of his sister and went out seeking revenge.  During the fight with The Blur his kryptonite heart was removed leaving him powerless.  We’ve seen as the season progresses that Tess was looking to find out how Corben’s kryptonite heart worked.  I’d wager its a safe bet to say that its Tess who reactivates Corben at the end of the season.

The folks over at the Starkville House of El interviewed Brian Austin Green during one of their podcasts earlier this year, and he had said he’d love to come back and do more work on Smallville.  Looks like that wish has been granted.
